Project Scientist

Sam Parish, P.G., CPESC is a Professional Geologist and Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control with over 7 years of experience. His fields of practice include erosion and sediment control inspections; planning, permitting, and Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan preparation for construction projects; preparation of technical reports supporting water quality permitting and enforcement matters; hydrologic studies; water quality permitting; site restoration; wetland delineations; stream determinations; Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments;, site monitoring and report preparation for remediation sites; and geographic information systems (GIS) analyses. Mr. Parish’s technical interests include the study of stream and wetland hydrology with regard to site uses and regulatory permitting and enforcement constraints. He has conducted morphological stream surveys, wetland investigations, and water quality assessments for a range of prospective and existing clients, including corporate, not-for-profit and governmental clients.

Mr. Parish’s work has supported various water quality permit applications and includes negotiating state and Army Corps of Engineers (COE) water quality permit parameters for various projects. His work on water quality permitting has also included conducting alternatives analysis and socio-economic analysis in accordance with state and federal antidegradation policy, development of mitigation plans, and overseeing mitigation implementation.
Mr. Parish has conducted numerous surface hydrology, soil, sediment, and groundwater investigations for various facilities, including commercial and manufacturing facilities, impoundments, defense sites, superfund sites, and linear projects (pipelines, roads, and railroads) and has negotiated Brownfield Closures and evaluated remedial alternatives at various facilities in order to seek site closure. Mr. Parish also has conducted numerous sediment and erosion control inspections and oversight for various clients in several states.
